Are my CPU temps safe?

Thread Starter
I just built my computer and Asus Ai Booster program says that my CPU is at 50 Degrees C and my system is at 50 Degrees C too. Are these temperatures safe considering the components I have. I know the sticky says that CPU temperatures are meaningless because everyone has different computers. I just want to know if mine is safe. I am using the Zalman CNPS9500 to cool it and I used the Thermal Grease that came with it.

are those load or idle? you don't want to go above 50*C load. and the sticky says that giving us your CPU temp is meaningless for comparing different methods of cooling unless you give us your Ambient temperature as well (your room temperature).

What is meant by load?
Now Aux is reading 127C.

Try CoreTemp. Load means when your CPU usage is 100 percent.

when your CPU does more work, it heats up, so under 100% load, it is at it's hottest. run two instances of Prime95 (look in the downloads) and it will put your processor at full load. tell us that temp as your load temp. and idle is when your cpu isn't doing much (say just the internet, or all programs closed) tell us that temp as well.

The 127 degrees C temperature is most likely a glitch if it doesn't change, and constantly stays at 127. The max load you want is 50 degrees, and by load I mean while your playing a game, or doing some CPU intensive stuff, the maximum temperature your cpu should reach is around 55-60 degrees, anything past that and cpu lifetime decreases vastly, but isn't too overly damaging.

I only have Firefox running. My Ai Booster is saying that CPU Utilization is at 1%. The temperature of the CPU is at 50C. And do I run torture test with Prime 95 or just the CPU?

that's bad.

You don't want to be idling that high. cpu temps NOT SAFE. lower them! try using Arctic Silver 5 instead of that zalman stuff, and maybe a better cooler.

Using torture test, it puts it at 50% load and it becomes about 60C.

Was your CPU OC'd? Becuase if thats stock temps I would RMA it becuase thats too hot even for poor cooling in a case
