Exactly. I sometimes wonder if I've accidentally stumbled into underclock.net... rolleyes.gif

The point (for those that don't get it [not you MoGTy, you're cool]) is that a single 780 has 1.5x the power needed to run this game at 60FPS so there is no legitimate reason for the game to be capped at 30FPS.

PCs have the power, but EA/Ghost insist on this ridiculous practice of capping games and delivering a subpar* experience.

*subpar makes absolutely no sense when thinking of it in golf terms (subpar would be good in golf, lol) but whatever, language is weird.

Like I said before, if this is the way EA wants to treat the PC customer, then I'll buy it when it's $10 and has been patched to be uncapped. I won't support PCs being dragged down into the mud by consoles.

Had it been uncapped today at release I would have gladly paid full price. But 30 FPS cap, no chance.

There is a easy way to bypass this limit with nvidia cards, i have used it with dead space 3, wrc 4.
Disable vsync in game, and enable adaptive vsync in nvidia control panel.
But if the game is still 30fps without vsync, this trick wont probably work.

Somebody has managed to run the game a t 60fps with a flag on the shortcut command, but it speeds up the game like a Movie sadsmiley.gif Think we will have to wait for EA, and i really hope they fix it.

There's not even an option to turn off vsync, it's locked at 30.

Edit: I didn't mean "hard locked" brain is awesome.

While I'm baffled at Ghost's decision to lock the game at 30, I'm even more baffled at all the people just assuming that someone other than the developer will come up with an easy fix (my bafflement is obviously not directed at you NinjaToast, I'm just following up on your comment in general).

It's true that that has been the case for a number of games (the only one coming immediately to mind is Alice, but I'm aware there are more examples) but when it comes to a game this locked down I'd wager good money that only a patch from Ghost will fix it. That was the case for The Run (albeit that was BlackBox, but essentially similar circumstances) and I expect it to be the same case for Rivals, presuming Ghost can, or bother to.

And while lots of people like to point out Dark Souls, the FPS unlock for that was a one off essentially, and even then it still messes with the games' physics and makes some leaps impossible at 60 FPS.

I'm still waiting for the promised uncap for DoubleFine's Buddah engine games (other than Brutal Legend, they've shown they know how to fix it with that one), but I'm not holding my breath. Some companies just don't care or don't have the resources (probably the latter in DF's case, but still).

Maybe G-Sync will be the solution to sloppy ports, apparently 30FPS on that actually feels rather decent. We'll see.

No thank you. EA is screwing up everything and I will not condone such behavior.

I liked their NBA release before but after reading this, I might stick to 2k series. Anyway that's a really crap decision making EA. Very bad indeed.
