Why do you care so much for the access time? We have disks with incredibly access speed and no HDD will ever come close to it.For me hard drives are only good for storage and therefor I'd me more excited for faster read/write, but my main priority is reliability.

They got reliability covered. Easily.
I'd have to disagree not that my opinion matters if we can get the numbers, but I've had for the past 15 years plenty of hard drives (+30) and I think 1-2 of them have failed, one of which was completely my fault. There's a different story with my SSD's, both of my Mushkin Callisto failed, my only Mushkin Chronos, one of my Crucial M4 (both affected my 5000 hour bug, one failed completely, one I managed to push though the firmware update). The only one who has been rocking it without me worrying is my Intel X25, it's not the fastest disk on the market but it's reliable.
