BFG 6800GS chekerboard rainbow screen??

Hey guys, I have a 6800GS with the a vf700-cu on it and I'm getting the rainbow checkerboard screen when i try overclocking even with as little as a .01v change in the bios.i use trying ocing using stock 1.3v but coolbits game me a 416/1085 recommendation with rthdribl running, at this speed it didn't have any checkerboard screen.. Then i vmodded using bios to 1.31V and coolbits gave me a rec. of 444/1115 with rthdribl running, using these clocks i tried 3Dmark 05 which worked fine till the firefly forest test, and then FEAR also gave a rainbow colored screen. By the way, my stock temps were:
Idle:55-57
Load:84-87

with VF700CU:
Idle:46-47
Load:63-66

so I don't think its a heat issue.

SPECS:
AMD 64 3000+ @ 2.32 GHZ
1.5 Gig of Ram at a low 193 MHZ
BFG 6800GS OC Unlocked to 16/16
350watt antec PSU

Any help would be appreciated

Those are artifacts... you have an unstable clock or a crumby driver install.

One time an install of 6.12 warcat drivers made my XTX give a pretty LSD spray of rainbow colors everytime water reflected light in the canyon run test of 06. Pretty funny really.

ok first thing you want to do is download driver cleaner pro from www.guru3d.com install it. download NGO 92.91 drivers in the modified driver area .

uninstall your current drivers , reboot into safe mod, run DC pro and select nvidia and clean out your old driver files. Reboot , install new drivers reboot once more and enjoy

that is really hot for that card. i have 2 6800gs and i use the 91.47 drivers and they work well but my idle temps are 40c idle and 69c full load on stock cooling with clocks of 500/1200 so you might need to see if your gpu fan i working and if so may need to re-install hsf with AS5.

Download and Install: Driver Cleaner Pro
DO NOT EXECUTE THE PROGRAM YET!
Uninstall the Video Drivers via Control Panel
Reboot
Go to Safe Mode: F5 or what it says in BIOS
Login
Use Driver Cleaner, Pick Category: nVidia
After it is done cleaning (Press Clean about 3 times), reboot.
Login Normally
Install Drivers
Reboot
Done
