AMD Overdrive help

Thread Starter
I thought I would try out AMD Overdrive on my A8-5600K. So far, I have only managed to significantly downclock my CPU. I have set my desired multiplier but the speed seemingly never increases, it usually stays at the minimum range that I can see in CPU-z. Right now, in CPU-z it says 7-40 for multiplier. I am stuck at 1500MHz, which is more than a 50% downclock. I can't figure out how to actually force the speed through this software. Any tips?

As a side note, I tried the auto tune and it landed on a maximum of 4.4GHz, but I can't get that speed after the tune either.

EDIT: I am not interested in using the BIOS to overclock this pc right now, only AOD smile.gif.

My previous experience tells me that multiplier change only take effect when CPU is idle. Make sure there is no CPU-heavy process in the background.

Actually, AMD Overdrive does not really help for me. Do your mobo provide any tweaking/OCing utility?
