Using Eyefinity Card For Extended Displays

Thread Starter
Hi,

I am in the process of planning a build which will need to be capable of driving 12 separate 1440p monitors in extended mode. I've been looking into purchasing two Eyefinity 7870s for the task, but I'm not sure if they'll do it. Can anybody advise me as to whether these cards will be able to run 6 extended monitors each? It would be ideal if I could simply buy two of them as opposed to several standard cards. biggrin.gif

Thanks!

Haru,

Just remember that most cards that have 2 DVI outputs have 1 Dual Link DVI and 1 Single Link DVI. To achieve 1440p resolution, you must use Dual Link DVI. Also if I am not mistaken, your trying to achieve a resolution of 30720x1440p w/ 12 monitors. 7870 w/ 2gb or ram I believe will not be adequate for what your trying. Good Luck with that. Please post pics if you are successful.
