Good upload speed for streaming

Hey guys,

I'm about to buy a Raspberry Pi and install XMBC on it. I have some questions about streaming at home.

I currently have 1Mbps upload speed as advertised by Cox. Would this be enough for streaming movies in 720p in home?

If not, what do I need?

Thanks

Do you going to stream all your movies from like a media server on your LAN?

If you are just streaming between devices on your home network, the data would never traverse the router. Therefore your internet speed would be irrelevant.

So from my PC to the Pi through wireless, there shouldn't be a problem?
