I could not find any markings on the motherboard. I downloaded several programs to tell me what it was, and manufacturer came up blank and Nvidia came up as model.

Download CPU-Z and go to the "Mainboard" tab for more info.

If i were you, I'd buy a new mobo. Do you happen to know if its socket 939 or AM2?

Software works for me, if it works. Like I said Clockgen wouldn't apply the new settings. And I couldn't know what settings to put in for cpufsb. Know of any others???

I did download CPU-Z and the mainboard says blank manufacturer and model C51MCP51.
And I don't know if it is a socket 939 or AM2 or not.

yea your gonna be pretty much stuck at stock with a name brand pc. you can buy a new mobo and put the processor in it and overclock then.

on a side note, 4 people asked if it was a name brand pc and failed to notice the name of his system

Ok, I'm boned. Oh well, my computer works pretty good. Just some games like Splinter cell are a little buggy. Just wanted bigger badder better. So... My next computer in year or two, Alienware good???

Uh...since you're here, use that 'year or two' to learn how to build your own computer rather than getting it pre-built.
You'll end up with a better setup for, most likely, a cheaper price. But then you would want better stuff.

Alienware will screw you just as much as Gateway. They don't want you to OC your system, blow it up, and expect a replacement under the warranty. Also, Alienware's price gouging is second to none except Apple. You should build it yourself.
BTW, this is an overclocking community, we think all brand name computers suck. They don't let us do what we do.
