If you have a hard limit you could step down to a FX 6300, get an asus 990x mobo and throw in a 60-64 gb Kingston now SSD to speed your system up

Don't get a 990x chipset mobo unless you plan on Xfire later on. If you want to save money or plan on using only a single graphics card, buy a 970 chipset motherboard.

You know, there is a difference between 990FX and 990X (there is pretty much only 1 990X board anyway, so it isn't too significant). Anyway if he wants to overclock he should get a 990FX board, they are usually higher quality and therefore overclock better. See this list for info.

I would wait until Friday, and browse Newegg and Tigerdirect.

Yeah I think it would be a good idea to wait until Black Friday and also Cyber Monday. Tiger Direct makes me mad sometimes though because even though they have great sales sometimes the exorbitant shipping costs make them not so great. mad.gif Especially since I live on the west coast.
