Budget Upgrading, Any help is appreciated. - Page 3

Amd are great for budget builds. If you have $400 for CPU MB memory sure you will get a few more fps with Intel. But you can get a 990fx and fx 6300 and memory and have an additional 150 for GPU if u go AMD.

3570k 4.5 7950 1160/1510 compared to fx 6300 4.5 7950 1100/1450

<10% difference and had the AMD GPU clocked lower.

I don't really have a set budget, but it is low. I'm going to use my Phenom processor and next upgrade I'm going Intel so I'm just looking for a decent motherboard capable of running the Phenom with a slight overclock. I know, I'm planning on new memory, hard drive, power supply already. If I go Intel now, I would probably have to get either a good z87 MB with a Pentium, a decent z77 with a i3 or a h77 and a i5 3350p.
