Get a GIGABYTE DS4 if it's less expensive or GIGABYTE DS3 which is a much better motherboard for the E6400. And with the money saved, you could get some better RAM. Like a single 1GB module, RAM such Cell Shock or G.Skill, have Team Group Xtreem? Either way, that's what I'm suggesting.

It lacks the much wanted 2x = 16x PCI-e

If I need to cut back on the budget I'll go with that though.

I've been told NOT to use corsair due to the fact they use promos in their ram now. I've heard crucial is good.

And one question... I don't encourage illegal activity or anything but.. do people generally pay for their copy windows in Europe?

Thats the question, do they pay? ( i promes that 60% dosent pay for their windows. And vista is gona cost a lot of $$$. When you will buy a new computer in the future whit vista its gone be like 1/3 of the mony you pay for the computer will go to vista.)

you may want to go to the motherboards site specs and make sure that the ram is compatible ive noticed as I was just shopping for my new one that the ddr2 ram is very picky with the motherboards, so you may want to get one of the ones off of the list at the site

There are no Intel (Core Logic based) motherboard that support 2 X x16PCI-E, it's either a x8 X x8 or x16 X x4.

You said single card because no real power yet needed, well does that mean you're going CrossFire in the future? IF so, then yes, the P5W-DH is the one but for an E6400 a DS3 or DS4 is a much better choice in terms of overclocking, 3D comes in as the last concern for me.

Microdirect.com - Within walking distance.

The option for crossfire in the future would be very nice indeed.

To be fair, I just want a decent upgrade from my sempron.

Cheaper the better really but a quite PSU and a copy of XP is a must.
