I'm pretty sure if you read what I posted above, you'll get a sense of what demotivated me.

I read what you posted but it doesn't make sense to me. It sounds like you're demotivated because there is going to be a possible port to consoles. This game is still at least two years out on the PC, I would imagine it will be 4-5 years before we would see it on console, if ever.

I trust Chris and the CIG team to use the money we're pledging wisely, but I understand if you are not so trusting. Its tough to spend $100+ on a game that won't be out for a long time, with little to no tangible feedback in the meantime.

Star Citizen IS a PC game. It will NEVER be dumbed down for a lesser platform. We will NOT limit the input options or supported peripherals to the lowest common denominator. We will NOT pass on features and technology just because they will only run on some hardware configurations.

I'm guessing kx11 you played x3tc/ap and then bought X Rebirth didn't you! wink.gif I can't wait for this game, but the budget is scary compared to Elite: Dangerous at somewhere around 1.5 million, dam I was an Elite fan.

You do know that Chris and his brother are extremely wealthy and actually don't NEED the support from the console industry to make this game? They've already surpassed the required money to produce the game by 6 million dollars. Most of what goes into developing AAA console gaming is marketing. About 70% of their budget is marketing. SC does not need marketing so the equivalent of 29 million dollars in SC is 100 million for a AAA developer.

I love you people screaming fire in a crowded building when there isn't even smoke.

Too true.

L4D2 had a marketing campaign bigger than the original budget for SC ($24M).

It absolutely astounds me that companies can spend tens to hundreds of millions of dollars on a game and still have trouble swapping menu icons... or somehow end up making mouselook worse (L4D is way better than L4D2).

Well that settles it. Time to go spend some money at the SC website.

Because those responsible for this stuff are underpaid and overworked.
