Best bluray playback software?

Thread Starter
Hey, since my ps3 is being an idiot and playing off my bluray movies in 480p through component (hdmi output is dead), im now using my desktop pc to play off bluray movies, but in arcsoft totalmedia theatre 6 the noise level is too high and the color fillness is too low too.

Which other software is rich in the colors to give off the best movie experience and also has a good noise filter to take away the film grain as much as possible?

Thanks for answers.

I've never had any issues with VLC Media Player.

It's about bluray playback of the BR disks. Not MKV's wink.gif (I use MPC HC for those)

PowerDVD or Arcsoft Total Media Theatre are the best choice. But it seems you are not satisfied with them. You may try the MakeMKV to rip your Blu-ray disc to MKV or just a cheap Blu-ray player software like Aurora Blu-ray Media Player?

BTW, the VLC only works fine with the none-commercial Blu-ray discs.

I've been using VLC to watch them for over a year. I don't recall having to set anything up to do so either. Though I may have done some tinkering and forgot. lol

Why can't you set your component video to 720p or 1080i or p? Have you tried resetting your video output from the PS3 Safe Mode Menu?

I have already set it to 1080i, but it wont give the same progressive 1080p as i want compared to 180i, so im using my pc for bluray playback.
