ok im back will put my order in tonight smile.gif just one last thing
I found out the xfx 7970s use a 6+8 pin which is what I have smile.gif so I qill get one of those

xfx 7979 Double D for 257.-

or

xfx 7970 Black edition Double D for 268.-

only difference is the black edition is oc`d to 1000mhz and the other one to 925mhz

do you think its worht the extra 11 bucks or should i just oc it my self... either way I will oc the one i get... any ideas if one ocs better than the other?

Hopefully someone looks at this soon as I want to order tonight.
thanks again for everything

I heard different opinions on cooling, I`ll just have to wait and see... In case the cooling suck I`ll just take it apart and remove the fans and stick 2 10cm fans on top of it and It will surely keep cool. Did that to the asus 560gtx and it wont ever go over 56c. (i have it hooked up to manual fan control) I also wouldnt have gotten the r9 cus of the price, I already went over my budget by 40 bucks but its well worth it smile.gif

I upgraded from a 6950 to a 7870, and thus far this is my second Sapphire card, and I'm very happy with it!

I've got my 7870 up to a stable 1200mhz Clock Speed 1250 Memory

either way, I've had two Sapphire cards, my 6950 was about 2 years old when I sold it [it was still working wonderfully at that too]

So BUY sapphire!

A hd7950 can't chock a core i7 920 if so a small overclock... Not 4ghz try 3.2 at most even for hd7970 now sli hd7970 yah maybe more 3.6ghz 3.8ghz. U don't need to go on 4ghz its a waste. All ur going to do is mak more heat... Or go die 4ghz if ur on water if not a cheap cooler master hyper 212 will do just fine
