So I went home for lunch and decided to do it... I was amazed at how easy it actually was, I had it back in my system and running in 30 minutes. Here's a pic (sorry for the terrible quality)

I see about a 7c difference which is great but I was wondering: Core 3 runs about 6-8c above the others? Is this normal? I even pulled it back out to ensure the TIM was nice and even and reseated and still the same thing?

Yes its perfectly normal. There is always one core that runs cooler/hotter than the rest. You can also have a look here for whatever else you may need, such as what you best tim option to achieve even better temps.

what about running the WB directly on the die? I've heard you run the risk of cracking it and you should do something like using the EK kit they came out with. What if you just screw the block on lightly? How fragile are these things?
