Not unless you're really pushing the CPU, no. I will say though, the sweet spot for Z77 seems to be true 6 phase like you get on the P8Z77-V Pro and Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD3H. 8 phase boards are normally too expensive, 4 phase might not cut it if you want to push your CPU but 6 phase is just right.

well ok, i'm exchanging my extreme 6 for the sabertooth tonight, hope i won't regret it all i want is getting a better board all around that will let me use my ram kit at it's rated 2400 speed + give me as accurate as possible core voltage reading, also i wanted the wifi +
bluetooth feature that is present on the maximus but sadly i can't find it here anymore
