My ASRock z77 itx board has a mini pci-e slot currently occupied by the wireless card. I've seen it asked if you can use a flexible adaptor and plug a sound card in there. No one has done it yet though as far as I know. Other than that I've never seen any itx board with more than one slot in it.

What it sounds like you are looking for it s mini ITX with 2 PCI slots? That would be a miniDTX motherboard and I don't believe anyone makes them any more...I could be wrong? The only mini ITX board I know if that has a optional sound card is the ASUS impact you might want to take a look at that.

By definition a mini-ITX board will only have one PCIe slot so what you're looking for doesn't exist.

You could look for an external DAC such as the Schiit Modi, ODAC etc.

i'm not familiar with external dacs/amps in the slightest bit. what i want is a small form factor while keeping a sound card as it's far superior to any onboard i've listened to. is an external dac superior to the sound card itself?

It depends on the DAC and sound card but in general, external DACs are better.

My Schiit Modi is superior to most sound cards on the market and only costs $99. Plus it looks awesome biggrin.gif
