Pre-installed watercooled vs aftermarket GPU waterblock

Thread Starter
I am getting ready to build my first watercooled PC and I was wondering if there are any advantages/disadvantages to either buying a video card with pre-installed waterblocks vs buying a regular card and putting my own waterblock on it. I would like to buy a pre-installed one just to make it simple since it is my first time doing it but I wanted to make sure there wasn't any drawbacks to this. Thanks.

The pre-installed are usually a model that you can buy seperately.
The only advantage I can think of is that you keep the warranty with the block.

BTW if you are buying a 780/780ti/Titan from EVGA their hydro copper waterblocks are far inferior to EKWB.

Was planning on getting either the 290 or 290x once they release the aftermarket coolers. Which I have seen some waterblocks that claim to fit. So I was wondering if I should go ahead and grab it or wait for the prebuilt ones once they release.
