I need a little help making this decision.I'm trying to stay away from watercooling, so keep the fact that they'll be on air in mind. I know the 290x will probably be better performers, but the 780s should be plenty in that department. I'm just worried about the 3gb vram on the 780s being an issue down the road. However, I don't know how well the 290x will work in CF on air, in terms of heat. These will be almost exclusively for gaming at 2560x1440.

If you can, wait for the non-reference ones.

3GB is more than enough for 4K with some AA. I doubt it'll be an issue anytime soon.

I would wait for aftermarket 290x to see how they perform at least.

Thanks for the responses guys. I kinda figured that would be the best course of action, but it's nice to have some support.
