The BE comes with with a SupremeFX which uses a realtek chip. Its a newer chip used in the Max rog boards as well. Apperantly it was good but imho, its not as good as the core3d found on boards like the Sniper5 and Extreme11 X79. The discrete version takes it to a new level and its a lot better. I really like the Creative control panel and the many options they offer. I still have some playing around to do w/ the Core3D Z sound card but so far its been stellar. I've been playing some Epic Trance on di.fm and its just awesome on my oldie X530 speakers. The last obstacle is to wire the sound card using a pcie 1x riser cable when i put the 4th gpu back in.
Other then that, I got an up coming change and I may just stop this build and concentrate on something a bit different. Its really a must since ergonomically, my new desk and chair are a pain, literally. Rather then developing carpal tunnel sooner, I've decided to do somethign about this ergo issue. Either cut off a bit of the legs on the desk or get a new and higher rising chair. Well, had an idea. Bought my mom a nice simple desk for her computer a few years ago. She ended up using the desk as a sewing machine table and her sewing machine table as a computer desk (
). Anyways, it dawned on me this desk has a long pull out keyboard tray. I removed it and installed it on my desk and we have better ergonomics. Bad news is that the case gets in the way. I don't have enough room on top so I have to figure something out.
So this build may continue albeit with some changes or it will be scrapped all together. I'm waiting on a few things to pan out and they will then determine my course for action. If I do go w/ a new build, no log until its finished. Much like the Elysium build I did last year. Spoke to the boss and she understands and sees I'm struggling with this build. She's ok with something simple. I have to be honest and confess this build is a bit too excessive and i can invest the money elsewhere. Enjoying a few days off as the family settles back in to normal mode. Babies taking up all day so I have a bit of time at night to fiddle w/ my rig, so don't expect anything for a while.
Tossing some ideas around. Recommendations for 140mm fans would be appreciated. Looking to keep cost down as this path will have bigger expenditures elsewhere (
). Liking the Rosewill Hyperborea 140mm fans (cheaper Akasa Apache version). Or cougar cfd 140 green led if funds can be saved on other aspects. Also, considering taking my 5x1 aray down to a 3x1 but 1440 monitors instead
