In the end when deciding between them heres what can be stated

The 20 bucks extra on the X1950PRO wouldnt be wasted as you would see probably increased performance in more than half the games.

But depending on who you are you have to decide if the extra 20 (45 with rebates) bucks is worth the ammount of performance. It is noticeable but I don't think by too much.

Ok if were even with my card at stock. Then what about with my card at 580 core and 1500 memory plus an extra 4 pipes. . We cant really compare benchmarks because you have a faster cpu. But my Oc'd 7900 GT is faster than your gs even with that nice overclock you have.

Hands down the x1950 pro.

Who cares about the OC capability of the cards. This is because an OC'd 7900gs will still be equal to or less than a x1950 pro running at stock speeds.

According to TomsHardware.com:
on 1280x1024 with 4xAA and 8XAF the x1950pro gets 78.4fps and the 7900gs gets 62fps.

Go on with further comparisons on their charts.

x1950pro FTW

Actully we are not even at stock. There was a good benchmark showing that the 7900GS OC'd is actully quite a bit faster than 7900GT stock. OC'd your card would of coarse be faster but you also payed 50 more bucks than me so its what to expect

EDIT: Actully look at this chart and you will se once both cards are overclocked it is very close and at res under 1600x1200 you could go either way.
