Anyone seen the illuminate / Masonic eye covering thing that many Music artist do ? You heard about the big TPP (trans pacific partnership) corporate NWO. The plan to monitor and control us like sheep ph34r-smiley.gif

I just looked at the LG logo

Isn’t that a face with one arm covering an Eye !?

Maybe they ARE involved in helping to find non DRM'd illegal Film and Music copies?

Never mind lol biggrin.gif

I think you just uncovered the next big conspiracy! tongue.gif

yep! you guys in the US are screwed tbh

just a thought but why don't you guys use the 4th of july to make a statement & go into lawful rebellion, become a FOTL & create a new independence day!

first you have to destroy something to rebuild it! but you wont get it by rioting or protesting, just give them more control & powers over you in the end?

if you don't know already your government is commiting treason with all the bills Obama has passed!

its all over the news in the uk the NSA has been spying on us too!

my thoughts on it all is this

I just heard that song walking back to my office...and I was actually a little creeped out by it. It is kind of a different deal when it is actually happening.

You've just ruined xmas for me...thanks.

You're welcome. Better to get ruined and done with right off the bat wink.gif

I just find it odd that for all these years people were fine fantasizing about some one spying on their children, but now that it is an actual possibility people are in uproar. I had heard that song before I had seen this thread...at the time the NSA popped into my head, but LG works too.

Well, I think it is pretty easy to not buy a TV with a camera or networking. The rest is hard to avoid.

Or buy one and don't connect it to your network. thumb.gif

Or in the case of this article

Turn it off and its still on anyways rolleyes.gif

Thats the point. Many times a modern smart phone or TV appears to have a feature disabled because you saw a small thumbnail that’s greyed out. Then you slap some deep packet inspection and find its scavenging your network ?? That's exactly why people were worried about the kinect and all cameras. Until some security guy does the leg work know body knows what’s transmitting. It could be so infrequent that you have to be really lucky to find it

but there are many big company logo's that oddly are similar in design and the symbols appear on the dollar too. Again NWO and all that Jazz redface.gif

FYI LG panels are featured on Cisco presence TV's too which are network connected so when you think about it, the snooping could go deeper than most people realise ? Perhaps people should start mandatory packet sniffing when a tech product tv / av amp / clock radio / air play / is released to security test it for home use in 2014 onwards..

This sounds like a thread from GLP or Above Topsecret biggrin.gif Have to agree though the amount of tech they seem to jamming microphones and cameras in...... THEN asking you to plug them into the net is disturbing to say the least...... (Same reason no XBox One will ever sit under my Sony!). Then of course the company's always says "nothing of any REAL interest is ever recorded"....... OR just to "serve you better ad's/marketing" After all this NSA lark..... Sure we beleave you:rolleyes:.

My advice would be NEVER connect it online unless to update. Then pull the plug...........

........ And hope it ain't got WiFi tongue.gif

Thanx.

Thread Starter
LG also confirmed to Tom's Guide that the TV's are spying.

Quote:
LG Smart TVs do collect information such as channels watched and the names of locally stored media files, LG Electronics confirmed in an email to Tom's Guide today.

The transmission of this data occurs even if users try to disable the function in their TV's settings — but LG promises to correct this with a firmware update.

How about not plugging in the Ethernet cable or allowing it to connect to your SECURED wireless network, you know like not putting in your password or not connecting with wps?

Seems simple enough wink.gif

What's the point of buying a smart TV if you don't connect it to the internet? That doesn't really solve the issue.
