Soo.. I recently purchased an msi 780 lightning from newegg for 529.99 with rebate but decided to not do the rebate so i may take advantage of the iron egg guarantee (returns and exchanges until Jan 31 with NO restocking fee). I really really love the card physically. It is so beautifully made and even the box it comes in is sexy lol. It has such great build quality. HOWEVER. I like to overclock with no voltage addition, and maybe it is just this card, but my boost was to 1097 and even an overclock of +120 on the core makes me crash in batman arkham city. I am really upset with the performance of the card and feel like all that extra stuff they added on it was for nothing. I know it isn't a huge difference in real game performance but i kind of have OCD and just looking at the Classified card's performances makes me want to get it instead. Right now newegg has the classified for 549.99 with an iron egg RETURN guarantee (unlike the lightning, there is exchanges until jan 31 but NO returns.) The classified is really sexy too, however there's no backplate *meh* and isn't as well built as the lightning. However the classified has the better performance and i know i would get pretty close to a 1150 boost without any overclock on it. And i definitely know that overclocking the classified will result in better clocks. So, i guess my question is, Should i wait it out until Jan to see if the classified's prices go down, or do you guys think the classified's prices won't really change from now until January? I'm thinking of returning the lightning and getting me a Classy. thanks!
