is to get an 8320 and overclock to 4.8 or so which is very easy on fx chips. Seriously the easiest chip to overclock.... like adding voltage and upping the multiplier, after you turn off power saving features. Not sure what cooler you are running now
but with 50-100$ one you can easily hit 4.6-4.8ghz.
This is coming from a guy with a 8350 and a 4770k and they are about the same except the 4770k isnt overclocked yet and the fx chip is. The intel chips will give you slightly better minimum fps on most games, especially with CF but I run bf4 on win7 with 0 issues with the 8350 (oc'd to 4.8ghz) and 7950 CF.
Just my opinion as you already have am3+ board and all but I didn't see which one
and that can be a big deal here IMO as 8 cores need a nice board to overclock. If you want to go blue badly I'd go 3770k or 4770k depending on how close to a microcenter
you live and what country
Either way GL on your new purchase and you will love to ditch that zambezi chip
. Also how do the r290s overclock and what your opinion on them... I just made like 3 grand mining and thinking to WC a few of those for an ultra silent mitx beast.
Sidenote: the new amd apus are only quads but supposedly will have much better per core performance and be hsa capable as well as use mantle! Not that anyone can recommend these as we have virtually nothing on them atm accept the boards look sweet finally.

haswell E looks like the next big jump and should have more cores! Intel must have adopted amds roadmap ha.Edited by Darklyric - 11/22/13 at 1:01pm
