ok, well it was predominantly the email nagging that has been bothering me. I've since disabled it, the only place I ever get zip files with .exe in them is at work, otherwise outlook does a pretty good job at spam filtering.
I liked it better when all I ever had to deal with was "Avast virus database has been updated", but now it's riddled with too many pop ups.
Admittedly I didn't put enough detail into my original post so I guess I deserved that
but here's some more
I don't need to know the global statistics on viruses, I will never ever need to know this... ever.
I don't need to be told my software is out of date, they usually come with self updater's that nag when I open. I don't need continuous polling to check that everything is up to date.
I don't need any of this. If I wanted to clear my browser cache I would do it inside the browser and I never do. I remember having to do this when hard drives were 10 GB, but I mean today?
Finally, I don't need to play "network admin" at home, I'm not going to sit there for hours watching all my incoming and outgoing traffic getting scanned.Edited by nooboc2012 - 11/22/13 at 5:17am
