First Water-cooled Build, some questions

Hello everyone, First post here and i have to say this forum is an extremely valuable resource for watercooling!
So, I am in the market of buying a PC and I wanted to invest some money in watercooling it.

The specs am currently looking at:

Asus Maximus Vi Formula Z87

i5-4670K - will overclock with the automatic procedure from the Asus UEFI

Gskill RIpjaws - 8gb 1866mhz

Radeon r9 290 probably from Powercolour- will overclock

Cooler master V650

Samsung 840 evo 250gb

Obsidian 750D

Now for the watercooling parts:

CPU Block: XSPC - Raystorm

GPU Block: EK FC - copper

Radiators: Black ICE Radiator SR1 360

Black ICE Radiator GT Xtreme 240

Pump: XSPC D5 Vario

Fittings: 10 XSPC Compression Fittings

Fans: 5x Gentlte Typhoons 1850 RPM

Tubing: Primochill Primoflex Advanced Tubing 13/10 1m

Reservoir: Aqua Aquatube Delrin Reservoir - black

Loop will be like that:
pump --> reservoir--> Radiator 1 --> CPU --> Radiator 2 --> GPU --> pump ( 1 pump in the system)

Questions:
1) Will my power supply be enough to power up that system + Pump?

2) Is my loop ok? Please if it is possible provide with some insight on what are some of the best configurations from your experience

3) If possible please provide some better value performance WC parts

4) Will there be problems using the waterblock for the MOSFETS on the Formula since it is aluminium and the rest of the setup will either be copper or nickel?

5) Due to my location its kind of hard to find biocides and stuff like that so i would like to buy a premix since my PC will not be extremely over clocked and will not run 24/7 could you provide with some brands that your trust?

Sorry for the long post and thank you for your time.

1. The 650 will do one 290 .... it draws about 254 watts .... no need to up size in any significant way as AMD has clocked these cards very aggressively and even improved cooling isn't getting peeps much OC headroom. AMD even commented to this in their THG interview that 3rd patyt cooling solutions are expected to be scarce and that extra cooling isn't showing significant clock improvements.

So with say 254-275 in mind, you need something 550 watts or bigger ....if you add a 2nd one, that's 254 + so I'd use an 850.

2.a The EK Supremacy is the best block for Haswell ... Raystorm not far behind

See xtremesystems WB roundup.I'd post the link but their site seemn to be down ATM

2.B As for Rads.... Alphacool has the best numbers over at Martins. If fit limitations leave you deciding between thicker Rad or / push / pull, take the fans.....thickness has very little effect (2% at low speed to10% at high speed) compared with the 20-30% ya get from extra fan

http://martinsliquidlab.org/2012/04/12/alphacool-nexxxos-ut60-360-radiator/4/

3. See 2

4. Absolutely not....assuming you don't have a defective one, unless you stick something sharp and pointy inside and put deep scratches in the anodized finish, nothing in your loop will have an effect on the anodized finish and visa versa

5. Mayems pastels are extremely popular and are available all over the world.

Thanks for the swift reply. I found the link you were talking about but the site is still down, will definitely will research a bit more on that when its up.

So you are suggesting that i should go with 2 30mm radiators in push pull conf? And also is the loop configuration ok? I mean in the order i mentioned above?

pump --> reservoir--> Radiator 1 --> CPU --> Radiator 2 --> GPU --> pump

Cheers.

The main problem you have there is that the pump has to go after the reservoir, not the other way round as you have it, but this is the only thing that is essential to loop order. Having radiators in between blocks will make barely any difference to temperatures as the water is moving so fast so when deciding on loop order take into account first the aesthetics of the loop in my opinion. For me the cleanest looking loop is the one where tubing does not cross, the tubing runs are as short as possible and the tubing runs are as straight as possible but that is my personal preference, look at other loops and decide what you like aesthetically.

Well two 60s are better than two 45's which is better than two 30's .... what I am saying is suppose you can get one UT60 in in push / pull and the other has a depth restriction....and ya can do "either":

a) A Xt45 in push pull

or

b) a UT60 in push or pull.....

The thinner rad with two fans is better than thicker rad with one fan

As for the sizing.... with a Alphacaool XT45-360, you will get about 257 watts of cooling .... the 240 will give ya about 2/3 of that.....or 428 watts at 10C

275 + 145 for a 4670k + say 40 watts for the MoBo and ya have 460 watts ... so ya have 93% of the ideal 10C goal ... accounting for the fact that rad sides, tubing, components, backplates, reservoir, etc also radiate heat ... you are in extremely good shape.....most peeps will realize between 60% and 90% of the ideal goal.
