Place to compare AMD vs Intel? - Page 2

I know this thread may eventually devolve into a amd vs intel war, unless the trolls are feeling complaisant today for some reason.

I have an 8350 rig with a titan in it and a 4770k rig with a now 780ti(was a titan) and side by side in game performance, both at stock, the 4770k was noticeably faster. When both were overclocked, the difference was much larger. Keep in mind a lot of games are single threaded so the Haswell IPC was making it soar way past the 8350. As for multithreaded applications, the only thing i tested side by side was crysis 3, where the gap between the too was smaller, but still noticeable.

thats my personal input, im not saying intel is better than amd all the time, im not saying amd is better than intel, and i hope no one quotes me and tries to spin it as such. 2cents.gif

as for motherboards -

how cheap is cheap for you?

at the $150 range, one of my absolute favorite motherboards for overclocking would be

gigabyte board designed for overclocking, pretty awesome board, i owned one for about a week before giving it to a friend because i got a great deal on the VI Hero.

another good one even cheaper is

gaming built board from MSI, gaming in mind with this board, however it has been reported to be a great overclocking board as well.

good luck in your search smile.gif
