Liquid Cooling Loop & Bubbles - Page 2

You need to be looking at 'Smart Fan Control' in the 'Advanced menu' in the BIOS and have the 4 pin fan connector on the pump plugged in to the CPU fan header.

The pump is PWM controlled.....connect it to the CPU header and then you can control it. CHA fan headers on the MoBo typically will not work.. Once connected it shoukld work according tot he graph below assuming of course that your MoBo is capable of doing so.

I have the 35x2 and I'm using Asus FanExpert2 to control the pump.

If you have a supported Asus Board, I'd suggest

1. Open AiSuite 3
2. Click on FanExpert2 in upper right
3. Click on Fan Tuning and follow the prompts....... it will test the fans connected to all MoBo Headers.
4. Once done, hit the back button and select "CPU Fan" by double clicking on the graph image .... the curve will now be editable.
5. I set the following points:

a) 13% PWM @ 20C
b) 20% PWM @ 51C
c) 74% PWM @ 70C

If ya wondering why I picked those points look at the fan curve linked above..... also want very low slope at normal operating ranges.

Note that the initial version of FanExpert2 (and AI Suite in general) was bonky. Use only the latest version where users are reporting success with all modules.... even the 4 way optimization.

I was able to solve the issue, I had the pump set to auto in the bios and I kicked it down to quiet mode. That removed the travelling bubbles and only raised the temp by 2° C, I haven't went over 26.3°C for the liquid and my CPU hasn't exceeded 80°F
