Making my first case

Thread Starter
My love of computers and computer gaming started a few years ago. I have spent time playing games on my current computer and have enjoyed every second of it but in the way of hardware my current pc leaves much to desire. I have decided to embark on a journey to creating a pc that will leave me satisfied for a long while. This is great and dandy for people with money (not me I'm a student) but i lack in funding. I have taken a liking to cases such as the ones made buy case labs and again have come short on cash.A buddy of mine who works in the audio visual industry had an extra audio rack lying around and i saw a likeness between it and cases like case labs builds. Long story short I Have decided to mod this rack into a computer case. My biggest issue is going to be mounting a motherboard inside the case. I was wondering what the best idea to create a motherboard tray for this case would be.

A piece of sheet metal with motherboard mounting holes, depending on size of the motherboard it should be fairly cheap, even one from an old case would do.

Something like this (quick Google: http://www.frozencpu.com/products/20427/cpa-276b/Lian-Li_Replacement_PC-6X_Motherboard_Tray_-_Black.html?gclid=COnM1Y-J-roCFdE-Mgod0goAQg) would let you have some dead on mounting points and would provide a space for I/O on the back, along with PCI card slots.

Pretty cheap, too, and I imagine that there are cheaper available.

I like the idea. Keep us posted.
