Computer locking up or restarting during use. Stardard "fixes" not working.

Gigabyte 990fxa-ud 3 motherboard REV 4.0
AMD FX8350
GTX 670 vid card
8 gigs ram
ANTEC Earthwatts 750

During gaming my computer will either lock up completely or restart itself. Most of the fixes I'm seeing I have tried - up the voltage a bit, turn off energy saving stuff in BIOS etc. I keep HWMonitor running and nothing has gotten remotely close to hot, no higher than 32 C, and voltage has never significantly varied (I want to say a range of .03 volts).

I just put in my old CPU and have not had the problem. So my initial thought is to RMA the thing but after doing a bit of digging it looks like this motherboard/cpu combo often times has this problem. Do you guys think it's worth trying another fx8350 with this motherboard, or should I just RMA both and try a different board? Or is there another potential fix I don't know about?

Thanks for any help!

Have you looked at Windows Event Viewer?

Yes I did, I believe the event number was 6008..."Event ID 6008 entries indicate that there was an unexpected shutdown.

Critical thermal event indicates that the problem is related to one of your hardware components not functioning properly that is triggering the computer to shut down."
