bf4 is often CPU bound. Check your performance with FRAPS, preferably record frametimes too and look at your performance in frafsbenchviewer. Take a benchmark or two at 1080p, and then drop to 720p or a really low resolution scale and take another bench. If your performance on the low end is not significantly better, you're limited by CPU or some other factor.
In the beta i saw really terrible performance, most people vastly overstated it because they were not looking at frametimes and/or sensitive to performance dipping/spiking. Look at this pic - the FPS meter states 95 average, ~70 minimum, yet the experience is very clearly terrible compared to something like Quake Live
^That was a 770 + 4770k @4.6ghz ht on, cpu limited to hell in 64 player during beta. I'm told it has improved much, but constant 80+fps still seems like a big stretch and i'm yet to see data supporting significantly higher performance when you look at it with a good resolution, like frametimes and not entire-second averagesEdited by Cyro999 - 11/23/13 at 8:28am
