Questions about RAM, RAMCache and RAMDisk

1) What are the differences between ram cache and ram disk?

2) If my mobo locks the latency at 1600mhz, can I still use ram with her clock speeds? ( mobo only runs at the 1600mhz speed)

3) Would a HDD with ram cache be as fast as an SSD with RAM cache?

4) If I play a game with an SSD using RAM Cache, will the game benefit in loading times or do I have to put it on a RAMdisk

Thanks in advance

1) I'm not sure what you mean by "ram cache" but a ram disk is basically a virtual hard drive stored in ram.

2) In most cases the faster clocked ram will down clock to 1600, but some ram may not work. Unless you find some really cheap ram you're better off just buying 1600mhz ram that has low timings like 8-8-8-24.
Something like this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820148558

3) An SSD will be faster

4) Like I said I'm not sure what you mean by ram cache. I know onboard sata controllers use some ram as cache when running drives in RAID. Unless you never turn off you computer and have huge amount of ram I don't see the point in loading a game into ram. A ram disk should be faster but if the game is optimized well enough chances are you won't notice a difference.

RAM Cache uses the ram to cache information.

How does it work though? If I had my SSD using fancycache, how does it know to cache the game files and not everything else?
