Advice on a New Monitor

I am just about ready to pull the trigger and buy the following but have a couple questions I hope someone here can help with.
ASUS VS Series VS247H-P
[URL=http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236174[/URL]
or
Acer S236HLtmjj http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009514
And this video card:
XFX HD-675X-ZDFR http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150684

My questions are as follows:
First and foremost I am not a gamer but I do use a TV Card to watch various programs. I also do a massive amount of web searching so text is a huge thing for me.
What I need to know is
Is the Asus monitor Matte/Antiglare or is it glossy?
Is the Acer matte or glossy?
I also need to know if ether will have any ghosting while using a TV Card?

And last but very important, I currently have a Acer 18.5 monitor running at 800x600 and the size of text, fonts, and programs seems to work well with my old eyes. I realize using native resolution is recommended but what I would like to know is what resolution would give me about the same results on a 23" monitor as opposed to my current 18.5"
I am thinking that 1280x960 or 1280x1024 should be close. Any ideas?

As for the video card I have chosen this because of the price and value. I am going from a onboard HD4250 to this HD6750 so I suspect it should give me better results.
I am currently using the onboard to monitor via VGA do going DVI should help with text. Correct?

Please let me know. My computer buying future awaits your response. lol

WAIT till black friday / cyber monday! You'll pick up a much better deal on both a monitor and a graphics card.

Thanks for the advice, however that doesn't answer a single question I had.
