wanting a new storage drive

What are your opinions on this.

Currently have a 1tb WD black drive and a 6 year old Seagate 320gb drive that I have in an external enclosure. My storage drive is getting full, only about 20gigs free.

I was thinking about upgrading this drive to something bigger. My idea was to get a 2tb drive, and partition it to mirror my entire 1tb drive(in case of sudden failure, I could easily restore it as it was), and then have another partition for general storage of stuff. Think this is a good route to go? Or should I take the 2tb drive and use that as my main drive and my my current WD black drive general storage with no mirroring?

Note I am not interest in SSD's, I will probably jump in next year when the prices are better.

Yes, get the 2TB!

Do you think I should use the 2tb as storage and keep my 1tb wd black as main drive? Or vice versa. My wd drive has a 5 year warranty, and some drives I was looking that are on sale are only 2 year warranties. Hmm
