r9 290 HDMI audio

Thread Starter
before installing my Sapphire r9 290, I had a Sapphire HD 6970. I had an HDMI cable from the gpu connect directly into my Onky Home Theater receiver, worked beautiful, it would pass 1080p video as well as bit-streamed HD Audio. But after installing the r9 290, I am only getting video output from HDMI to receiver, it doesnt recognize the receiver has an audio device at all.....strange thing to is that when I check my AUDIO PLAYBACK DEVICES in windows, I see like 6 AMD Audio devices, and not one of them will activate for HDMI audio

anyone else notice the same? any explanation for this? Like i said with the 6970 this was easy as pie, no issues

edit:
I updated to the latest beta drivers AMD Catalyst 13.11 Beta v9.4 and now HDMI seems to be working BUT after switching off the home theater off and back on - it stopped detecting an audio connection - still passing video though
