I had deus ex way back in the day for my old pre intel mac. Seemed pretty chunky. Slow, difficult interface. Is ultimate edition any better than the original? Human revolution definitely looks good.
Batman I might be able to almost take. It's an adventure game or interactive novel more than an RPG, there's really no sandbox. You just play through the plot. What killed arkham asylum for me was actually the gargoyles. "You can only jump on gargoyles so we'll put them wherever we need them" Some game designer should have been slapped for that. After my 15th completely oput of place indoor gargoyle it felt like I was playing super mario brothers goth edition. If they got rid of that particular feature and just let you climb on and swing from stuff though it might be worthwhile. I never found out how locked up the plot was thoguh. That may be a killer.
tomb raider is not an RPG it's an interactive novel platformer in 3d. Totally not what I am after.
I watched a video of castlevania . It's an interactive novel adventure game in the purest sense, but it looks like a very good one.
Kingdoms of Amalur review on gamespot
implies it is sort of the opposite of what i want, though probably not a bad game in iteslf
remember me seems like a pretty straight forward action/adventure game with a really cool world, not an RPG though.
I dunno. maybe I'll just have to suck it up and play GTA. 4,5, & 6 seem reasonably modern. Which one is the least likely to make me feel disgusted with humanity?
