Looked at dark souls. Masochistic puzzles are not my idea of a good time though. An entire evening of complete failure leaves me grumpy. (see my problem with bioshock infinite DLC)

Don't worry about open world... Play The Witcher 1 & 2. Just to prep for 3 if nothing else.

@bombastinator: Have you looked at Wasteland 2 much, is it something that interests you as well? What are your two favorite RPGs of all time(any platform)?

Falolout 3/new vegas were super awesome. I enjoyed guildwars 2 for a while till it filled up . IO really liked bioshock 1 &2 though they weren't really RPGs. Their quality of flavor was just overwhelming. Bioshock infinite did that too, but the DLC just destroyed the game for me. Incredible amounts of replaying the same level over and over and over. I don't even want to look at it any more. Baldurs gate 2 was terrific so was Dragon age it's just that I'm burned out on swords and sorcery.

Some games are worth the difficulty curve to keep going though. Remember the gauntlet bridge puzzle in Dragon Age origins? Or the cipher puzzle in nicholson electroplating mission from L.A Noire? If your persistant enough, it's worth it to see the rest of the game's story.

True. I wish I could, but I just suck really hard at PvP. I'm not all that good at games. Crap reaction time, slow visual processing, and a tendency to hit the wrong button. I only got through the intro race section of Rage by buying high performance tires for my dune buggy. Had to farm a bunch of bandits and badly abuse the gambling system to do it. I miss so much with bullets that adventureing costs money rather than makes money in that game.

It's alright, but you need to be on top of your suspects and check your clues related to the suspect to get most of the questions right. Driving in that game is okay, but not really fun. Imo if you want to play a game with an old setting, go with Mafia 2 so you have an idea of how fast your going with a speedometer. Mafia 2 is more gang business focused though, so it's a bit different to being a police officer in L.A Noire, or well, quite the opposite even.
