Battlefield 2 won't launch

Yeah a little bit late but yeah.

Right now I'm on a low end system so I've been playing low end games.

But yeah, I'm running windows 8.1, my specs are:

- i5 2520m 2.4GHz
- Amd radeon hd 6630m I think (latest drivers)
- 4gb of ram

So I've installed it and when I launch it, it just has a black screen and crashes to desktop... frown.gif. So can anyone suggest fixes. I'm also on a usb monitor so I can't change the resolution (1366x768, 60hz) and I've already gone into the profiles and set it so it launches at 1366x768 automatically.

Alright, found the issue. So It all seems to have installed fine and it runs fine (on a non usb monitor with gpu scaling), it's just I can't play it on my usb monitor unless I find a way to set bf2 to launch at my monitor's resolution (1366x768). I've tried going into the video.con files and changing it to the right resolution but it doesn't seem to work, any ideas?

See

Go to the "Command Line" section, you can set your resolution.
Can you run any other games through the USB monitor?

Strange, just add the launch Parameters like I said above and it should be OK

Yeah turns out the usb monitor is just really weird, when playing mirrors edge I get 25-30fps on Low Settings. I hooked it up to the tv and I was getting 60fps on medium at a similiar resolution. I think the drivers are just messed up. Oh well, I'm getting a decent monitor soon anyway biggrin.gif. Should fix everything.
