Battlefield 4: game crashes NVIDIA specific, servers crashing, or something else?

Hey guys, I was going to buy BF4, but so far being put off by reviews on NewEgg talking about constant crashes.

Then you got a bunch of reviews where people are saying that they have NO problems, which is odd.

I noticed a bunch of players running Nvidia cards have issues with game quitting.

My question what is causing that, GPU drivers, or the game is botched up altogether?

Watched some videos on youtube where NVIDIA GPU owners are crashing constantly, so hmmmm....not sure if AMD/ATI runs into the same issue. I have AMD Radeon HD 7950

That will be my ultimate call whether to buy it or save my money.

I haven't had any particular crashes specific to drivers. One crash that's very annoying is when you get revived when you're about to hit your load out screen you get stuck there and have to quit the game. This is also with both GPU and CPU overclocked. I'm on 331.65 drivers.

I am getting no server side crashes(this is the worst as you loose all your score & unlocks from that game) since the update a few weeks ago, Games runs pretty smooth on the latest driver. Occasional crashes still happen(I think I had 2 in the last 3 weeks, both during game loading) but is by no means constant and no evidence shows its driver related.

Although you should go into the 7950 forum and ask other 7950/7970/280X owners to get a more relevant answer for yourself.

Does it crash often for you, Nate or not often to be an annoyance?

That sounds hopeful, are you getting that weird stutter that I have seen users have with 780?

And just any other issues you guys running into.

Weighing out my options, since when it plays good it looks GREAT.

On the initial release and the following couple of weeks, crashing was pretty common. After that, I've been running fine with no crashes aside from the occasional server taking a dump. This is on a 7950 with the beta drivers that came out when BF4 hit open beta. A friend that I play with is running a 650ti and crashes at least every couple of matches, he gets frustrated by it but has enough fun with the game to keep going.

Awesome, since I have the same card as you, minus the brand of course.

Not not often enough to be an annoyance, I just got the game 5 days ago and put 40 hours into it. I was a huge BF3 player, and honestly like BF3 more still. Spawns need to be fixed, that's the largest glaring problem I can think of at the moment. It's a gorgeous looking game, especially when the resolution scale is turned up.

I had on incident of lag causing some issue, no stutter that I could notice. I had the game since release day but only put 65 hour into it, at most 6 crashes and only 2 since the updates 2 weeks ago.

I am considering buying BF3 (never owned Battlefield games, played a bunch of COD back in the day), would be interesting to know how fast people will move away from BF3 to 4

That's pretty darn good imo, to me 65 hours is A LOT considering how busy I am, so that's not a lot of crashes in my opinion
