Today i got an SSD yay (corsair gt 120) so i popped it in used EaseUS Todo to clone then set the ssd to primary in BIOS. all well and good. But it seems to be in three partitions in my computer. I find this a bit odd. One has windows and stuff and is aprox 80 gb. one is near blank 30gb and non-encriptable and one is 99mb and half full (

Any who, clearly at some point i was a tit and have done something dum or not done something right. any help would be quite lovely smile.gif thanks, hope this isn't a common question i have used the search to no avail.

1. Do a secure erase of your SSD.

2. Do a clone from your HDD to SSD and only clone the main partition.

3. Boot from SSD with HDD disconnected, and stretch the partition to full size of SSD in COMPMGMT.MSC, if the cloning software didn't do it already.

4. Once SSD is configured as you'd like, reconnect HDD and you can go into COMPMGMT.MSC to remove unwanted partitions from that drive. If Windows COMPMGMT is unable to make changes, use an Ubuntu Live CD and GParted instead.

Of course, have a complete backup to another medium before messing with partitions.
