PCIe Slots and SLI: FPS Differences (1x16 vs 2 or 3x)

Are there any major fps differences (advantages) to having multiple x16 PCIe slots? Currently I am running with 1x16, 1x8, 1x4(x2). Just a curiosity question. biggrin.gif

It depends on how much PCIe bandwidth your configuration needs. I think the general consensus is that 2-way SLI works about the same on PCIe x8/x8 as x16/x16 (PCIe 3.0) If you have 3 or more powerful cards and you are running very high graphical settings, some people think there may be a noticeable SLI scaling difference between x8/x8/x8 and x16/x16/x16.

Thanks - that's what I figured, though I almost considered upgrading my mobo to get multi x16's.
