Apparently Windows doesn't support IBM ServeRAID M1015...suggestions??

So while planning to move from FreeNAS to WS 2012 R2 for my file server I just found out that Windows is not a supported OS for this RAID card. Can anyone suggest a solid (not overly expensive) card for an 8 * 3TB RAID10 array?

As far as I am aware, nothing should stop the 2012 drivers running it. Unlike 2008 to 2008 R2 where most of the underlying code changed (vista based to win7 based) the same is not true for 2012 R2, where very little underlying code was changed and mainly just had functionality at an application level changed.

I would advise grabbing a spare drive and loading it up just to test.

I've already tried. I get a Code 10 The device can not start for the LSI MegaRAID SAS Adapter properties in Device Manager. IBM also does not list Windows as a supported OS.

I've used a M1015 (flashed to 9211-8i) on Server 2012 Essentials R2 before.

Hmmm I'm flashed to 9240-8i. What are the differences? I had an issue flashing to one firmware where my server wouldn't boot if I had all 8 drives connected to card. Couldn't get it to work until I flashed to the standard 9240 firmware (newest one) off IBM's website.

9211-8i has no RAID5.
