16:10 Fans

It's a niche market now, I'll give it that. The 16:10 is too perfect for me to leave it, and the last 27" 1440p monitor I used left a lot to be desired. I genuinely felt like screen space was lost, despite the monitor being huge. 1600p does not come in any monitor smaller than 30" and this is a major disappointment. Seeing as the 27" monitors sell better than the 30" ones, I had thought a 1600p one would be a no-brainer, but two years later companies still show no signs of wanting to offer this.

For those of you who wished for a larger monitor, but did not wish to leave 16:10, what did you do?

How can those of us that do like 16:10 make our case to the manufacturers? How can we help make this happen?

At present, I am an IPS snob. Even the high-end TN panels look like garbage to me. I genuinely admire the 144hz monitors and still miss having 2ms input lag instead of 10+ but for some reason IPS wins over TN panel for me. This decision rules out 120hz, Gsync, and 144hz for me. I am now at a point where I am considering what sacrifices I want to make in order to bump up my resolution. frown.gif Does anyone else feel my pain?

I have had a wide range of 4:3, 16:9 and 16:10 monitors.
Had 1920x1200 and 2560x1600 before my current 2560x1440. Although I do miss the little extra space when browsing the web, it's not much of a loss really. Watching movies there is no more of the annoying black bars in EVERYTHING and in games its also very nice since not every game is truly 16:10 compatible.
Pretty much everything is made for 16:9 these days, so I figured why not and I do not regret it at all. Since you have 24inch monitors going up to 1440p will net you some extra space resolution wise anyways, so it will not be a loss for you in any way!

I don't watch movies on my monitors, I watch them on my Sony HX950.
