Using a PhysX card with 780 HoF?

Thread Starter
I'm curious would I honestly "Lose" anything by using a PhysX card with my 780 Hall of Fame edition? I'm just curious to improve performance just a bit; Sometimes I do lose frames (VERY rarely) but I'm more curious than anything.

Let's say I have a 560 Ti or maybe a 650. Would I GAIN anything by using that card as a PhysX for the 780? I don't know if then it ignores the 780 completely, or just "burrows" from it.

Honestly, I'm not overly familiar with PhysX cards or how they work. Only even learned about them recently.

It does help no matter what card you have in Physx games. My friend used his old 570 dedicated to Physx together with his new 780 @ 1202mhz. He tried out Mafia 2 which has very good Physx built in. In the benchmark with everything max at 1440p he got from 55fps to 67fps if I remember correctly.

In any Physx game with a second card dedicated to Physx, all the Physx effects will be run on that card. So it no doubt takes of some load from the main card in games where it is used heavily.
