Sure you can, it's going to fail windows genuine validation, but it will still let you use windows.rolleyes.gif

What do you mean that never register it? Was it on a laptop?

No. You can only use one key with one computer. You can use a windows CD on multiple computer and the OS will install, but eventually, you will have to activate the code with Microsoft and it will fail if it is on more than one PC. If your copy of windows came preinstalled on a PC that you purchased, that PC has already had the code activated, even though you personally did not have to do it.

You'll need a new license. The disc itself can be used on as many computers as you want. But the license itself, its basically one key per computer.

Windows will work for so many days as a trial. You will have to purchase a key though.

It will give a grace period 30 days to activate it. After that the desktop background will go black and will say that you don't have original Windows. If you decide that you will have the key only in one computer, call Microsoft to activate it if it doesn't succeed to validate it.

Are you sure? If I remember correctly, Windows 7 attempts to automatically verify your code when you connect to the internet for the first time. I believe there is a check box so it does not do this, but you would have to uncheck it.

Either way, the answer is no, you need a new key.

I guess you could use it for 30 days then reformat again biggrin.gif
