DFI is in trouble. - Page 13

I emailed several paragraphs from my 3 different email accounts to the 3 email addresses listed. I hope it helps the forum get back up and running. Id like to thank all the folks at DFI Forums for all the help. I didnt chat much with the guys there but I picked there brains by reading for hours on end and copying what others had done. For a guy like me that has 4 DFI based rigs in his house Loosing DFI forums is a hard hit. I can forget about getting my Venus/Opty to 3.0 and beyond without there help. You will be missed guys!

Only way a company will truly change is with a shareholder revolt. Nothing talks like angry investors (think of Eisner and Disney).

DFI could weather an internet storm with it's own PR machine. But it can't remain operating when investors bail.

That's how to protest to win.

If folks care enough about a company, it's future, and their own investment they'll put their money where their mouth is. Between 16 year-olds holding a internet protect campaign, and 26 year-olds looking at risks in their portfolio, guess who has more weight in getting the ear of a company?

Few companies can withstand a bail out, many companies can withstand a internet boycott (because the way the web works, folks can't keep up with the lasted soap operas).

OH well. DFI is cool and all...but if it's going this way...they got what they deserved.

My Ultra-D has blackened one of the pins on the P4 connector of my Seasonic...so if it's doing that, I don't think I'd buy another DFI anyways...that's not cool.

An internet boycott for a motherboard like that would make a huge impact. People who buy motherboards for overclocking purposes generally do their homework and ask for recommendations first. Right now very few people if any are going to be recommending DFI here.

I agree with losing investors would hold more weight. I just don't believe you should invest in something just to complain about what they are doing. If I were to invest in something I generally believe that said company is going to grow. I wouldn't invest in a sinking ship just so I could try and tell them how to plug the leaks.

No, the company can just launch a PR campaign, and if worse comes to worse, just retool and seek another market (PCB manufacturing for cellphones and such instead).

Tell me do you have memory from companies that were fined (again) for illegal price fixing? Do you even know of that scheme? Do you even care? If you're like 90+% of the web market you'd wouldn't know or care, you'd just buy it. That's business, and it'll operate like this as long as they can, and as long as people think "I can just wave a placard and XYZ will fall if MY product fails!!".

DFI's market is tiny, so tiny that if it kills over the hardware world wouldn't even blink an eye (Eastern Airlines). Compare it with the disaster if ASUS disappears tomorrow (United Airlines).

I love the spirit of protests, but being angry at DFI for a spat between itself and an employee interested in jobs of his friends and himself, over yet another late product with "fans" who have steam kettle tempers, is par on course. This is just another repeat of this sorry soap opera, and it'll continue while folks keep buying the things they keep telling the world they hate in the first place.

I was given his email before, but I've lost it so I've contacted Happy_Games for it.

He helped me via email to fit my G.Skill and gave me some basic settings
