Or if membership is more interested in forum sigs; forum soap operas; biting the hand that feeds it, too. People don't have time to waste (time=money), so I do believe DFI-Street will have to change drastically, or Darwinism will play out.

1001 hardware forums to use, and I see Overclocker.net sure isn't suffering from the split, either.

BETA BIOSes void your warranty, but I see no reason why DFI won't allow them as long as this is made clear

Thats true...but if you were a member of dfi-street and had a beta bios in your board DFI made exceptions....but I dont think it mattered to be a member of dfi-street to get the exception...

DFI-Street tactic: I'll get the clt+v right, when you learn to use proper capitalization.

Um...it is how it is...proper grammer dont make the man.... just the words...

typos are human as am I .....I am not the one that looks like a idiot here...

For the rest of you...I got word from Travis and I'll post a bit of his reply to me for some of you to read.....

dr_bowtie...

Do me a favor and remind everyone that whatever is in the database at DFI-Street belongs to DFI-Street (as well as each individual's post belongs in part to the poster as well as DFI-Street). I've seen many idiotic posts as well as many posts that are just uninformed where people are saying they want to snitch whatever data they can through google's cache (or even more retarded, they think they want to sue me to release the database info? lol) and then post it up freely and openly.

I'll have to explain that this is not a good idea. In the last 3+ years, you can be assured that I've paid plenty (you know how much lawyers charge) for legal counsel on what is and isn't proper, true and legal about the data on DFI-Street.com. If anyone had bothered to read DFI-Street's EULA when registering, or the legal.htm page, they would have seen that by registering and posting, they had agreed that everything became DFI-Street.com's property as soon as the post button was pressed and the page refreshed.

I already feel like **** about having to lock every member out of the forum and lock down the data like I have, but keep in mind that the site and most of the major bits of information are my own IP, and I have to protect that since it is my own labor and money that went into making it.

I guess this is where I start sounding like the total jerk that everyone thinks I am. But the reality is that I worked my arse off over the years to create that site, and the EULA clearly stated that when you registered, you agreed that all content you put on the site was now the property of DFI-Street.com. This is standard practice at almost any forum these days.

Anyway, I am telling you this as I feel like you understand a bit about who I am and you would understand what I am saying here and maybe relate it to the boys that it's necessary to just calm down and not do anything foolish because I would absolutely hate to be an ass .

Sorry this is all happening. Maybe your campaign can do some good and this can all be salvaged. We'll just have to be patient and wait and see.

Travis

Please be patient and help with the campaign task at hand....Thank you..

@ StarryNite:

Why are you posting on this thread, it seems to me that you are just here because you think that its funny to wind people up, you don't seem to have any special interest in DFI-Street or the demise of it, yet you continue to post here and on every other thread concerned. Although you are being quite clever with what you are saying, the bottom line is your trolling, just looking for an argument and to vent about your bad experiences. This is partially one of the reasons why DFI-street was such a good web site, because people like you were quickly banned.

Actually, the term you're looking for is hypocrite, Bowtie. And it's reflected in ad hominems like the below, too...

Quote:
My native language isn’t English but I suppose the last word should be “incarnate”; nevertheless I tend to ask: “sorry did you really write that? I mean after all the morality lections about keeping out of this and don’t have any opinions since none of us knows the whole story” this blunt sentence doesn’t look good, does it?
This is why DFI-Street has a rep of being elitist snots. Add hypocrites to the list as well.

Let's read on, okay?

What is this? A replacement for "As the World Turns" or "All of my Children"? Now it's lawsuit time, too?

I knew I should've bought popcorn last week!!

In the best interests of members, I am leaving this thread closed. It is of no further educational value to everyone. The announcement has been made, and I do not think we need to discuss any further why it was made. In the meantime, I would wait for a release from DFI as to the link to their new forum. I am certain you can catch the release right here in the news section
