Filling a hole in a plastic surface?

Well ladies and gentleman it is time to mod my computer case. I am using a Corsair Carbide Air 540 and love it to death. I plan on installing a custom water loop over winter break as well as various other modifications. The first modification I would like to take is filling the dual 5.25" optical drive bay area. I do not use optical drives anymore and I think this case would like great with this area being filled in addition to my custom paint job.
Right now I am thinking the best approach would to keep the factory 5.25" bay pieces installed as seen in the attached photo and then bondo over them filling in the cracks. Then do the usual sanding, prepping and painting. What do you guys think? I haven't worked with plastic too much so I would greatly appreciate some input. Also painting is not a big deal as I will be painting the entire case white.

yeah , i was gonna suggest bondo ,

at the inside , put some tape or something with a carton sheet , so that the bondo wont drip , and create a wall from the inside . Then u do the usual bondo layering / sanding / layering / sanding

untill u cant see the crack pattern , remember , if u dont correct that first , when u paint it , it will be noticed the pattern , either buldge up or hollowed lines

and the best advice is , dont rush things smile.gif
