Good camera extender?

Thread Starter

I got a gopro and i see these used a lot, i was looking at:

http://www.amazon.com/QPAK-COMPOD-Compod-Extendable-Handheld-Tripod/dp/B001EQ1IQY/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1385416411&sr=8-4&keywords=Quikpod+Pro

and

http://www.amazon.com/XShot-Camera-Extender-Cameras-XS2379-F/dp/B000VA4CK8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1385416372&sr=8-1&keywords=camera+extender

the second one seems to have a better rating and the first one has a little tripod attachment

it will mostly be action shots to it will be moving and i plan on getting a real tripod later. is there any other reason the second one is better, or would you recommend a good one?

Thanks

The second one looks more sturdy.

I would just go to walmart/target and get a monopole for $15. They even sell cheap tripods for $20-25 (Targus).
Save $5 and get it today.

FYI Walmart sells them in black, same thing at Target, except it is grey.

The mono pod is actually good quality. I was surprised.
They are just aluminum.
The Targus tripod will be the same quality as the one had. Walmart has sold the same one for quite a few years. But anything for $20 will be the same price.
Costco had a manfroto tripod for about $100 a while ago, you could always look into that.

As far as water proof... I wouldn't hesitate to use them in the water/weather etc. I assume that the tubes will fill up with water. Just give them a minute to drain.
