I just ended up doing this as I use an Xbox 360 wireless controller and then discovered to have it PC-compatible I needed a wireless adapter/hub thing, or I'd have to buy a wired controller. I had a spare, broken xbox 360 lying around so it was no hassle.

I don't think there is any difference though. I believe the Xbox One controller will have PC support in early 2014 though.

I think im just gonna get a wired 360 controller and download the driver for it off Microsoft. Ive seen 360 controllers for windows on amazon but I think the only difference would be the software comes with it maybe? Also yeh gutted the xbox one controller isn't compatible until 2014 I hope the rumble works though

Hey do what I did. Somehow get your hands on a xbox 360 and remove the RF receiver from the front it has like 3 screws then you can get a resistor and solder it to one of the pins and now you can use your old xbox360 controller with your pc.

Sorry I just read a few posts up and saw the link to the controller mod.

The mod is for using a wireless controller on your pc without buying the wireless adapter.

You can also buy a wireless PC controller that does not require an adaptor. smilingsmiley.gif

To be honest though I just got a wired one as I hate changing batteries all the time.

Very true but this was for an existing mod of a xbox 360 controller say if you had an extra from a RROD xbox 360.

Yah I use the wireless and I have a dual recharge base so I can always have @ least 2 batteries on charge. Plus I can always plug in the usb cord to the controller and charge it that way.
